How about traveling through the delights of our country and discovering a little more about these destinations full of unmissable ingredients?
BELÉM – A true gastronomic treasure, this is how Belém (PA) is known. Located in the North of the country, the Amazonian roots enchant tourists with their flavors, present in dishes such as: Tacacá – a hot tucupi-based soup; maniçoba, vatapá, jambu; açaà and a variety of fish and fruits from the region.
The gastronomy of the city of Pará carries indigenous roots and the influence of Africans and Portuguese, combined with the richness of natural ingredients from Amazonian fauna and flora.
Since 2015, the city has achieved the Creative City of Gastronomy seal granted by UNESCO, standing out as a global gastronomic culinary reference and promoting development in a sustainable manner.
BELO HORIZONTE – The miner’s table is famous for its abundance. It's difficult to choose between tropeiro beans, tamale, Minas cheese, cheese bread, cornmeal cornbread, dulce de leche, tutu, corn angu and many other dishes that have a unique flavor that delights the palate of those who visit BH.
The dishes are part of the identity of the capital of Minas Gerais, and it is impossible to go to the garden city and not try Minas cheese with guava paste and the countless combinations that exist.
According to the Belo Horizonte Tourism Observatory 2023, tropeiro beans are the dish that stands out most among visitors and residents, with a preference among 46.2% of the public.
Also awarded the title of UNESCO Creative City for Gastronomy, the flavors of BH carry elements of indigenous, African and Portuguese culture.
FLORIANÓPOLIS – In the South, the island of magic also promotes fantastic flavors. The charm goes to the dishes based on fresh seafood such as Shrimp Moqueca and Roasted Mullet, which are a true delicacy.
The fusion of flavors and the preservation of local ingredients are trademarks of Florianopolitan gastronomy.
One of the most emblematic dishes of Florianópolis (SC), Moqueca de Camarão combines fresh shrimp, fish, onion, peppers and tomatoes in a broth of coconut milk and palm oil. It's an explosion of flavors that represents the island's Azorean and indigenous heritage.
Part of the Creative Cities Network since 2014, the city is the largest oyster producer in Brazil. Famous for delivering fresh, flavorful oysters, which are grown in the clean waters around the island.
They can be enjoyed raw, with a touch of lemon, or prepared in different ways, such as gratin or ceviche.
PARATY – With roots in caiçara culture, Paraty (RJ) offers authentic cuisine, with historical influence from colonial times. Its cobblestone streets and colonial mansions create a charming setting to explore the local cuisine.
The region's cuisine features dishes such as cambucu fish, parati banana and artisanal cachaça, which show the power of authenticity and unique flavors found in this region.
Cambucu fish, one of the region's favorites, usually consists of sea bass or dorado, cooked with plantain, coconut milk, palm oil and regional seasonings. It is a harmonious combination of tropical flavors that reflects the region's indigenous and African heritage.
The city is also host to several gastronomic events throughout the year, such as street food festivals and meetings of renowned chefs.
These events celebrate the city's rich culinary tradition and provide visitors with the opportunity to explore new flavors and unique dishes, all combined with sustainability, one of the axes of the Creative Cities Network, of which the city has been part since 2017, in the gastronomic category.
NATIONAL TOURISM PROGRAM – Brazilian gastronomy, with its unique colors, flavors and aromas, continues to attract travelers in search of authentic experiences, transforming the act of eating into a journey of cultural discovery.
